Welcome to OxidVPN: Privacy Built from the Ground Up
Introducing OxidVPN — a VPN service built on an open-source protocol, WireGuard, and Rust, designed to put your privacy first without compromising on speed.
Why We Built OxidVPN
The VPN industry has a trust problem. Closed-source clients, vague privacy policies, and opaque infrastructure make it nearly impossible for users to verify that their VPN provider is actually protecting them. We built OxidVPN to change that.
OxidVPN is a VPN service built on GhostWire, our open-source protocol. The security-critical code that encrypts and routes your traffic is publicly auditable on GitHub. We believe that trust should be built on transparency, not marketing promises.
Our Core Principles
Zero Logs by Architecture — Our servers run in RAM-only mode. There is no persistent storage on any VPN node. When a server restarts, all session data is permanently erased. We cannot log what we cannot store.
Open-Source Protocol — Our GhostWire protocol is fully open source. Independent security researchers can audit the code that protects your traffic at any time. We welcome scrutiny because we have nothing to hide.
Modern Cryptography — Built on the WireGuard protocol, OxidVPN uses state-of-the-art cryptographic primitives: ChaCha20 for symmetric encryption, Curve25519 for key exchange, BLAKE2s for hashing, and SipHash24 for hashtable keys.
Performance First — Written in Rust, our server software delivers exceptional performance with minimal resource overhead. WireGuard’s lean codebase (roughly 4,000 lines of code vs. OpenVPN’s 100,000+) means a smaller attack surface and faster connections.
What Makes Us Different
- Traffic Obfuscation — Advanced packet obfuscation makes your VPN traffic indistinguishable from regular HTTPS, defeating deep packet inspection.
- Multi-Hop Routing — Route your traffic through multiple servers across different jurisdictions for defense-in-depth privacy.
- Kill Switch — Automatic traffic blocking if the VPN connection drops, ensuring zero data leaks.
- Free Tier — Basic privacy protection should be accessible to everyone. Our free tier includes 3 server locations and a single device connection.
What’s Next
We are actively developing new features including split tunneling, custom DNS, and a self-hosted option for advanced users. Follow our progress on GitHub and join the conversation.
Your privacy is not a feature — it is a right. Welcome to OxidVPN.
